TESTIMONIAL

I truly enjoyed working with Kim during the design and construction of my kitchen remodel. She is a good listener and provided me with several designs that suited my needs and lifestyle without compromising the integrity of my 1920's home. She walked me through many crucial decisions during the design and construction process. She is an excellent resource for information about green building materials and methods. Kim is a true professional and I am confident that she will will be a tremendous asset for any design job.

What is sustainability?

Sustainability is another word for "green" or "environmental" today. Many sustainable practices are money saving tactics for the home and office. The idea of recycle, reduce, reuse is a key phrase in green practices. Obviously reducing or reusing any products in the home or office can benefit the bottom line instead of purchasing new.

Sustainability & Social Responsibility

Often when sustainability is discussed social responsibility and corporate social responsibilty (CSR) are assumed. Social responsibility and corporate responsbility are ethical ideologies encouraging positive benefits to society whether active or passive. ISSDC believes in the power of CSR for we volunteer, participate, and sponsor organizations like Habitat for Humanity, The Ohio Environmental Council, Crown Point Ecology Center, & The Boys & Girls Club to name a few.

According to the EPA, Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. Estimated indoor levels of pollutants may be 2-5 times higher and sometimes up to 100 times higher than outdoor levels of pollutants (www.epa.gov/greenbuilding). A healthy home and office begins with a sustainable or green lifestyle.
